That new Nissan Leaf ad looks familiar…
Nissan has released a fairly brilliant new ad (above) for its all-electric Leaf. The ad invites us to imagine what it would be like if all of our appliances - from the alarm clock to the hairdryer to our office computers - were powered by gasoline.
We thought this was especially clever … because we had seen it before! The new Leaf ad is incredibly similar to “Generation,” the winner of SmartPower’s 2009 EnergySmart ad contest. In the efficiency 30-second PSA, we see what it would be like if all of our household appliances ran on smoky generators inside our homes:
Like they say, imitation is the sincerest sign of flattery. We’ll take it that way.
